Poster Pics/ Catchy Phrase
IT'S NOT JUST ADULTS. AND IT'S NOT JUST FEMALES. IT'S CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS TOO. (I want to add something about "destroying" or detecting and putting an end to eating disorders in children and adolescents before they progress too much. I'm just not sure how to sum it up in a super short, catchy phrase.... still working on it.)

Poster Idea
So today I could not make it to class because I was running a high fever and was feeling extremely nauseated when I woke up this morning. I am not sure what exactly we learned in class about designing posters, but I have a few ideas for mine. I would like to make my poster a very touching, sentimental one because I know that the best way to persuade people is to connect with their emotions. To reinforce my plan of enforcing annual eating disorder screening in children and adolescents, I may even pull out one or two statistics from scholarly articles. I will keep the colors simple, probably black, red, or grey. I could however, make the poster colorful since it is dealing with children. I guess we'll have to wait and see...

P90X Project
So I completely forgot to blog on Friday and Saturday because I was extremely busy this weekend and it completely slipped my mind. It randomly occurred to me today after I finished praying that I needed to blog about our in class research project on P90X. My group was assigned the research part of the project. We looked for the credentials of the product and the man who created the fitness program. We also found out that there was no real scientific explanation behind P90X; all that was provided was the "muscle confusion" theory that made product users think P90X had some sort of medical research behind it. We also found out that the website provided video demonstrations of the exercise plan and the program provided product users a nutrition plan as well as worksheets to track their everyday exercise. To reinforce the product, the website was teeming with "success stories" and extra information to persuade people to use it by mentioning that celebrities and professional athletes have used this product. All in all, with a bit further research, one can conclude that P90X is presented as an overly amazing product and the website is highly persuasive due to the use of "evidence" and motivating information all over the website.

Capstone Project
I am humbled to say that I was one of the 13 out of 223 students whose initial project proposal was accepted without any revisions. I aspire to become a pediatrician in the future, and my project focuses primarily on eating disorders in children and adolescents. It is clearly evident, according to numerous scholarly articles, that eating disorders in children and adolescents often go unidentified or misinterpreted by pediatricians. I will be editing the annual screening process for eating disorders in youth, and my end product will consist of a survey to be completed by parents/ children who can speak at every clinic visit regarding eating habits.
My Thoughts on Senior Capstone...
All I have to say about Senior Capstone is... :

(I haven't seen the full video so I hope there is no profanity.)
Reasons I dislike it:

AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT!
I think since we are taking about 9 classes, our workload is unbelievably heavy. With senior capstone assignments to complete daily, it becomes kind of tough to keep up with all the other college classes we are enrolled in.Reasons I dislike it:
- Too time-consuming.
- Too much wok.
- Too many unnecessary assignments not even used for final paper/ end product.
